Another great event to-come is the ninth North Devon Festival. There is less than a month to go and a lot of people are trying to make it a huge success.

The Festival starts with a  Preservation Hall Jazz Band (1st June) at the Queen’s Theatre and then we’ll see the master of blues Eric Bibb (2nd June) and world music superstar Baaba Maal (3rd June).

Also ColourDome, a unique event will be installed on Castle Green, Barnstaple on 2nd & 3rd June. It’s a magical experience to walk through the structure. At the centre musicians will perform: Michael Ormiston (2nd June) and jazz improvisers with computer musicians to create a new world of sound (3rd June).

Among other events happening worth mentioning are the art exhibitions talks and workshops at different locations.  Also  Blues in venues in Ilfracombe, Buckland Brewer and South Molton.

At the Landmark Theatre a local artist, Amy Newton, launches her long awaited second album ‘Which Hand’.

There is also a Family Climbing Festival at The Mill, South Molton.

You can also have a go at sailing, canoeing or windsurfing as West Buckland School hosts the North Devon Sports & Classic Car Run and Family Fun Day on Sunday.

And if you fancy going to a party, have fun on MS Oldenburg with a Sunset Cruise from Bideford Quay along the river Torridge enjoying live jazz music (3rd June).
