Greencombe Gardens
Post-War Garden
Greencombe Garden was set up by Horace Stroud in 1946. It is set on 3.5 acres on the edge of ancient woodland.
The name of the garden comes from the combe behind, which is the only one in this arc of hills with a sward of grass but no water.
The layout of the garden is very natural. It gives the impression that all plants occurred naturally even though have been deliberately planted in their present positions.
