A Great Day Out On A Sandy Beach

This large sandy beach is a perfect place for a family day out. The beach is on the border between Devon and Dorset. There are lots of facilities to be found in the town: shops, pubs, a cinema, a theatre and plenty of fudge shops and small artists studios. Toilets are available on the beach. There is also parking nearby, although driving up to the heights of the town will offer cheaper parking with just a small pleasant stroll down to the beach.

As the beach is sandy and the water is clear, it's a perfect place not only for children. At the edges of the sandy stretch there are long strips of submerged rocky walls concealing catfish and offering the perfect area for snorkelling. At the opposite end Lyme Regis adjoins a bay renowned for its fossils.
Dogs are not allowed.
